One tip from the top floor was to use a bean bag to steady a camera, instead of a tripod. It's moldable, fairly small, easy to carry and pretty inexpensive to make. He asked me to make one for Micah for his video camera, and it worked really well when Micah was filming a discussion at church for folks that weren't able to attend. DH's pocket-sized camera was dwarfed by the original bean bag I made, so he asked me to make him a smaller one.

Great idea Carol!
We used some navy beans to take up some of the space...it was a pretty big bean bag to fill for this camera. We also used the little clear plastic pellets you can buy as filler at the sewing store. I made the one for his camera just two circles sewn together and filled. DH carries it with his camera when he goes somewhere now to be prepared for those Kodak moments anytime!
