Duct Tape Formal

Tim Yagel, my nephew, and his date for the prom wanted their impression to "stick" this year. They decided to enter the "Stuck at Prom" contest, where they create and wear a prom outfit made out of Duck brand duct tape. EVERYTHING they are wearing (well, I'm not sure about underclothes) is made from duct tape: hat, tiara, jewelry, nail "polish," purse, cane, shoes, buttons, tie, corsages! You can see the lacing on the back of the dress and matching trim, also in duct tape. She even has a coordinating shawl, done with transparent duct tape to give a "lace-like" look. They had an absolute blast and said that tons of people were taking their pictures all night long!

The back side looks as good as the front! :o)

(This is a nation-wide contest sponsored by Henkel America makers of Duck Tape.... This is the fifth year for the "Stuck At Prom" contest. The top prize for the contest is a $2500 college scholarship for each of them along with a $2500 prize for their high school! The entries will be judged based on workmanship, originality, accesories, and quantity of tape used. In addition to the top three prizes, there will be an opportunity for online voting between June 17 and June 26 at www.ducktapeclub.com for an additional prize of $500 each... this voting is for the "Top of the Tape Award".) I hope you will help them out and remember to VOTE for them in June!

Edited to add: I found the news article online which featured my nephew and his date, Leigh Frens! Here is the link: Sherwood Juniors make prom night one to remember
