It seems very strange tonight with the men in the family here. Bill took the boys camping overnight to a Father/Sons Memorial Day event with an old friend. This friend organizes this bonding time when the men and boys rough it and pretend to be pirates looking for buried treasure. Bill is not much of an outdoorsman...his idea of "roughing it" is having to use dial-up for internet! LOL This weekend adventure, however, is one to which he really looks forward, and the kids have a blast, too. He's really roughing it now, because he doesn't even have dial-up or cell phone service where they are now!
We were concerned we might have to cancel our plans when Katelyn became sick on Thursday, and was still not better by Saturday. We called the doctor and got a different medication for her, and it seemed to work since she was finally getting some color back in her cheeks and feeling better.
So it's just us girls here today. After church, we took a nap, and then went to the playground. I was able to see Rebekah and her daring adventures on the monkey bars. She is fearless--except when it comes to dogs. For some reason, dogs can make her climb to the top of the nearest adult's head where she holds on for dear life. Go figure!
We went to a neighbor's house to see if their daughter could come and play at the playground, and they invited us in for dessert. We hadn't eaten dinner yet, but I thought...why not? So we ate dessert, played a little more, then came home, fixed dinner and ate dessert---again! :o) By that time, the girls were ready to go to bed!
We hope to have some more fun tomorrow.

Carol, I just busted out laughing when you described how Rebekah climbs the nearest adult's head. I can't even type it without cracking up because my youngest sister was the same way. The visual in my mind is just hilarious!
