Partying at Staples

Staples had an employee "picnic" today, too. It was raining so it was an indoor picnic. LOL One of the managers is a techno-gadget geek. He made up some games to play (like Fear Factor, Survivor, etc.). This is one of them...the object was for the leader to shout which foot to use and work as a team to go the whole distance.
Some of the other games he created: he had a long tube that you dropped a ball into and tried to get the ball into a bucket at the other end--the catch was that the operator was blindfolded, and another team member had to direct the operator by verbal commands. My kids were chosen to operate the tube, and some had a little trouble with their "lefts" and "rights." I know what I need to emphasize in school now! LOL

Micah was the one giving directions and Jacob was following his lead to try and roll a ball through the tube to drop out the other end into a bucket.

There was a strategy game to pick the correct number of flags for your team, and be the team to pick the very last flag.

Renee kept grabbing the flags for her team before anyone else could. The team with the very last flag was the winner.

Another game was a cardboard target the participants knocked off with a ball gun. He made up a spin the wheel game where you had to land on a certain card to win a candy bar, and a marble game similar to pinball that had to land in a certain slot to win.

The object of this game was to dig into the "dirt" (chocolate pudding with cookie bits in it) to find the most (gummy) worms. The only catch was you couldn't use your hands! Even though I knew it was chocolate pudding, it still looked gross! The girl who won had pudding up her nose!

Caleb got a face full in the chocolate pudding race to get the gummy worms--what a good sport! I don't think I would have volunteered for that one!
The last competition was karoke. Each team had to sing their way to victory.

The kids had a great time, and were inspired to try their hand on making their own games when we got home.
